Welcome to the Delphine Lodge

This beautiful old Lodge is now for sale as either a residence, Holiday Home or Bed and Breakfast. As a consequence we are no longer able to take bookings.

The Delphine Lodge was built in 1899 in the true Old West style. It has been beautifully restored. As well as the main building there is a small Residence or Care- Taker's Cottage which is presently rented long term at $700 a month.The asking price including many furnishings is $597,000.00

The Lodge is set in the midst of the Columbia Valley, on the Western slope of the Rocky Mountains. This area is of unparalleled natural beauty and abundant outdoor activities. Wilmer is a small hamlet 4 kms from Invermere, where there is excellent shopping, and 18 kms. from Panorama Skii resort.

The large English garden is fully fenced and secure for children and pets. There is a screened Pavilion, fruit trees, herbaceous garden and iris bed. There is also a large screened porch.

Rooms

The dining room has a 7 ft harvest table made from 2 inch thick 'antique pine. There are 14 dining room chairs and a huge Russian Buffet (1700's from St. Petersburg). This stupendous antique serves to store linens and cutlery and also acts as a serving table.

The Lounge has a huge fieldstone fire place which runs back into the dining room, opening on both sides.

The Country Kitchen has french windows which lead onto a deck. Perfect for summer breakfasts!

There are 5 bedrooms and four bathrooms, two of which are ensuite. The front bedroom extends across the entire width of the Lodge and is presently used by the owners. This room affords fantastic views of the Rock Mountains and has access to the upper balcony. Two of the other rooms over look the beautiful gardens and one looks North to the rim of the surrounding hills. The remaining bedroom is on the ground floor with an ensuite bathroom.

ActivitiesThere are many wonderful hikes in the mountains around the Lodge. Lake Windermere is five minutes away and has good bathing. There are also several smaller lakes nearby to swim or fish. The Columbia Valley is on the Pacific Flyway and is a mecca for 'Birders'. The Delphine Lodge is adjacent to the Columbia Valley Wetlands Wildlife Refuge. Here birds such as: Golden Eagles, Bald Eagles, Osprey, Yellow Headed and Red Winged Blackbirds, Blue Birds and numerous duck and other species can be observed. The surrounding mountains abound with Wild Life. There are Moose, White Tailed Deer, Grizzly Bears, Black Bears, Wolves, Coyotes, Cougar, Bob Cat, and Lynx.

World Class restaurants are minutes from the Lodge. There is excellent shopping in Invermere, four kilometers away. Nearby Radium Hot Springs and Fairmount Resort have Spas and Hot Pools.
